You can fund your projects, your interests, your ambitions.
Events, Sports, Tech, Science, Community, Theatre, Art & more.
Crowdfunding is sponsorship by a crowd of many donors, each making an individual, small donation to help fund a project. It works really well for schools because there are large groups of people who want to see your projects succeed, such as family, friends, neighbours and local businesses.
Your sponsors can be anyone from friends and family to local businesses and philanthropists that are interested in helping provide extra resources and experiences for your school. You may be surprised by the amount of support there is from the local community. How many people your project reaches is up to you!
Yes! There is no ceiling to how much you can raise and it is common for projects to raise more than their minimum and sometimes more than their funding target!
We ask you for two amounts - the minimum you need, and your ultimate target. Funds only change hands if a project has reached its minimum once it hit its end date. This means you only need to carry out your project if you achieve this minimum target. We recommend setting the minimum at the smallest amount you need to complete your project. You can still set a bigger project target as well! Most projects receive considerably more than their minimum!
When you publish your idea or event, we call it a project. For your idea to become a project, you must have a clear goal and be able to explain how you will spend the funds you raise.
CrowdfundEd is part of the overall FundEd programme, which includes the termly magazine, ‘how to guides’, fundraising templates, grants database and access to resources to help schools raise extra money for projects that inspire. For more information about the FundEd programme, please visit www.funded.org.uk. Unlike many crowdfunding platforms we do not charge a % of the funds raised. There are card processing charges that you pay directly to the merchant (Stripe charge 2.4% + 20p per transaction).
